Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal

Matt WilligmanWelcome to O’Donnell Elementary School!

Our Vision: O’Donnell School encourages independent thinkers and problem solvers who are adaptable to an ever-changing world.

Our Mission: We will create a safe and nurturing environment that promotes high expectations for all.

This is my fourth year at O’Donnell, and third year as principal.  I have served within District 131 since 2000. I taught alternative education for seven years before spending the last 10 years as an administrator at Waldo, the Fred Rodgers Magnet Academy, and O’Donnell.  I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Illinois State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Benedictine University.

Our school is named after Mabel O’Donnell, who was a teacher and administrator in East Aurora, as well as a noted textbook author. Today, we continue her commitment to excellence in education by hiring and retaining highly qualified staff to provide quality education to all students.

This year, we look forward to the continued implementation of the district’s rigorous curriculum.  We are also excited about continuing and expanding our community partnerships.  All of these things help make O’Donnell “Quite Possibly the 2nd or 3rd Happiest Place on Earth”.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at 630-299-8300.
